This cooler is equipped with a compressor technology that is many times more powerful than a thermoelectric cooler. The compressor pumps a coolant around which, due to the pressure, cools down sharply and thus also the contents of the cooler. This technology makes it possible to cool, or rather freeze, up to -20⁰C and that to 55⁰ below the ambient temperature. The cool box Melbourne is designed to generate as much cooling power on 12V as on 230V. This makes compressor coolers ideal for use as an (extra) fridge at the campsite or during a car journey to the sunny south.
